I am not a driver, but my wife begged me for years to stop…being an asshole.
    I can relate!

I never had this problem. I married a Lady Truck Driver. She worked OTR for 15 years, while I ran local during the same time. She retired to the couch and the TV. I still drive a dump truck, bringing in the good money. 😅

I'm 32 yrs in trucking second Gen. Truck survived two ex wives and raised 1 daughter and 3 step kids. And I'm only 52.

  12. @kevinobrien3355 Avatar

Only a driver would get this and live it!

  13. @Kcburnit Avatar

And if you do quit and now you don't make that good money then she will complain you don't provide what she wants.

Happy wife happy life does not mean you do what she wants to make her happy you have to realize that nothing you do will ever make her happy. What that phrase means is that if you find a woman who is naturally happy she will be happy with whatever you do and you will have a happy life

I'm 53 and tired of driving. I can't stand this shit anymore… Tired of being gone…

  15. @priver9866 Avatar

Seen too many truckers not wake up in truck stops. Over the years I've seen three ambulances that had full shrouded bodies being picked up at truck stops.
Get your heart and blood pressure tested drivers, and take your medicine!

I left at 30 with the birth of my son. No way was I going to be out on the road when he was growing up.

  18. @joshdye1684 Avatar

Fun fact. The expected retirement age of a trucker is 65. The average life expectancy of a trucker is 63! How does that compute?

  19. @jockjames86 Avatar

Don’t matter where your working the government has there hands on retirement which means we all be work until where in death bed 🫡👐

  20. @jenna6616 Avatar

i tried so hard. after 12 years on the road I said I was done and voluntarily dropped my class A off my license . Now 5 years later I had to go get my cdl back and getting my next truck issued in 3 days from this post. There's no getting out.

“When you do what you love, you wont work a day in your life”.
The quote isn’t true, but it would make work more bearable.

  22. @jamesbateman2686 Avatar

if my wife told me this she would be an ex wife soon after. LOL

  23. @Grampa_J Avatar

Told my wife that I almost lost due to trucking…you can take me out the truck but I will not be happy without being in one. I’m local now and fighting health issues to stay driving. Keep the rubber side down and see ya on tha flip side. I ain’t got no panties on😂😂😂😂😂

  24. @EntangledVolition Avatar

When you’re just over 50, and all of a sudden all these ‘I just turned 40!’ videos start popping up…😮😢😂

  25. @John-jz7dd Avatar

I just let it go at 59 can't do my job no more. Hauled at least 10 million gallons of used oil& used antifreeze / oily water for the past 25 years . Now I am applying for medi cal & food stamps trying to get some help but takes weeks ! The bad thing about it is you Work your self into the dirt for Nothing! Then unemployment wants you to go find a new job, even if you can't work because of a broken back from a crush from a 10 ton truck & a tore up knee that your knee & foot are displayed 6"from your knee and the knee dislocates & pops quite a lot!

  27. @haikats1561 Avatar

What else could you do that pays the same without going back to school or starting as the lowest person on the totem pole.
