Current invitation: a Wise card or a fee-free transfer up to $600 USD, subject to eligibility and the offer shown to you. This is not a $600 cash bonus.

Where Wise fits a driver’s life

Wise is most relevant when money needs to cross borders or change currencies. A driver supporting family abroad, traveling internationally on home time, or paying an overseas business supplier may have a clear use for it. A driver who only earns and spends U.S. dollars domestically may have less reason to add another account.

Wise is a general financial platform, not a trucking-specific service. It does not provide a fleet fuel program, dispatch tools, IFTA reporting, or a complete owner-operator accounting system. The examples below are our suggestions for applying its features to real driver needs.

1. Send money to family overseas

Wise supports international transfers on eligible routes and displays a quote for the transaction. Compare the total amount you pay, the amount the recipient receives, and the estimated arrival time before deciding.

Driver example: During a parked break, plan a household transfer for family abroad. Confirm their receiving details directly, keep the receipt, and allow time before a bill is due. Neither an advertised fast transfer nor an estimate guarantees every transfer will arrive instantly.

2. Hold and convert currencies

A Wise account can hold supported currencies and convert between them. Availability depends on your residence and the currencies involved. Conversion involves a fee even when the exchange rate has no markup.

Driver example: Keep a planned international travel budget separate in your own records. Holding foreign currency also exposes you to exchange-rate changes; converting early does not guarantee a better result.

3. Receive money internationally

Eligible customers can obtain receiving details for supported currencies. Before sharing those details with a payer, check the supported payment type, any receiving fee, and the instructions shown in Wise.

Driver example: If an overseas payer needs to reimburse you, confirm that the payment method works with the account details provided. Do not assume every currency, employer payroll system, wire, or payment network is supported.

4. Spend with a multi-currency card

Eligible customers can use Wise’s card for supported purchases and withdrawals. Wise advertises spending at the mid-market rate with conversion fees where applicable. Card ordering, replacements, and ATM use may carry charges.

Driver example: For personal spending on an international trip, compare Wise with your existing card’s total costs. Keep a backup payment method and enough available funds for temporary merchant holds. This is not a credit-building card or a guaranteed truck-stop discount card.

Compare the real cost, not just the exchange rate

  • Sending amount: Compare services using the same starting currency and amount.
  • Recipient amount: Look at the final amount after the quoted charges, not only an attractive rate.
  • Payment method: Review the price and timing for the funding method actually selected.
  • Card and ATM costs: Wise’s withdrawal allowance has limits, and an ATM operator may charge separately. Check current pricing and the machine’s screen.
  • Timing: Leave a buffer for verification, banking schedules, or additional checks.
  • Promotion limits: A transfer-fee discount does not mean every future transaction is free.

For a company driver, an employer may have its own approved reimbursement and payment procedures. Follow those procedures rather than assuming a personal account is appropriate for company expenses.

Wise Business for owner-operators

Wise offers a separate Business account for eligible businesses with international money needs. Its tools include paying invoices, receiving international payments, team finances, and accounting connections. Business setup, feature access, and pricing differ from personal accounts. Read the official Wise Business overview.

Potential use cases: An eligible trucking business might need to pay an overseas service provider or receive a supported foreign-currency payment. Keep invoices, payment confirmations, and bookkeeping records together. Use an account appropriate for the business and verify tax and reporting treatment with your accountant.

Do not assume Wise replaces your primary business banking, fuel credit, freight factoring, insurance, payroll compliance, or maintenance reserve. The referral offer described on this page was observed on Mark’s invitation page; business-account eligibility for that offer must be checked separately.

Protecting funds: what U.S. users should know

Wise is not a bank. Wise says it separates customer funds from its own operating money and holds them in cash and liquid assets. Its U.S. transfer service and balances that have not opted into interest are not FDIC-insured.

Eligible customers who opt into the U.S. USD interest feature may receive up to $250,000 in pass-through FDIC coverage through program banks, subject to the program agreement and applicable aggregation rules. Do not assume that coverage applies to every balance or currency. Rates, eligibility, and program banks can change. Read Wise’s explanation of U.S. fund protection.

International money management is separate from retirement investing. This guide does not present Wise as a pension, IRA, or guaranteed investment-growth product.

Mark’s Wise invitation: understand the offer

When checked on October 20, 2026, the invitation identified Mark and offered a choice of a Wise card or a fee-free transfer up to $600 USD. The wording and available benefit may depend on your location and eligibility. Read the offer displayed after following the link.

The $600 describes the transfer amount covered by the offer. It is not money deposited into your account. Wise’s standard invite guidance says guest discounts may be a transfer or card benefit depending on region; external costs such as taxes are not covered by a transfer-fee voucher.

  1. Open Mark’s invitation using the button below and review the benefit and conditions displayed.
  2. If the service fits your needs, complete registration and any required verification directly with Wise.
  3. Check whether the card or transfer benefit is available to you, including limits and any deadline.
  4. Review the final price and recipient information before making any transaction. Signup alone should not be assumed to qualify Mark for a referral reward.

Referrer rewards and qualifying actions vary by program. No reward amount for Mark is promised here, and not every transfer, conversion, or card payment qualifies. Read Wise’s standard invite guidance.

A practical setup checklist for drivers

  • Know which country and currency your recipient needs and confirm the receiving details.
  • Use your accurate residence and account type; feature availability follows eligibility, not the country you happen to be driving through.
  • Complete identification only through Wise’s official service. CompanyDriver.TV does not need your documents, passwords, or verification codes.
  • Allow time to receive and activate a physical card before a trip.
  • Use account security controls and verify unexpected payment requests independently.
  • Keep a backup payment method and copies of necessary transaction records.
  • Manage transfers while safely parked, and review each final quote before confirming.

Pair it with your trucking money tools

Use our Weekly Budget Calculator to plan family transfers alongside road expenses, the Emergency Fund Calculator to set a reserve target, and the Paycheck Checker to compare deposits against what your carrier owes. These are CompanyDriver.TV tools, not Wise features.

Questions truckers ask

Is Wise only useful for international truck drivers?

No. A domestic driver supporting family overseas or traveling abroad may also have an international payment need. Its usefulness depends on your money movements, not your job title.

Is everything free with the referral?

No. The invitation describes a specific eligible benefit. Other transfers, conversions, card charges, and third-party costs can still apply.

Does the promotion give me $600?

No. The displayed offer covers an eligible transfer up to that amount; it is not a $600 cash reward.

Will every transfer arrive immediately?

No. Use the estimate for the actual route and funding method and allow for checks or delays.

Should I use personal Wise for my trucking business?

Review Wise Business and the applicable account terms for business transactions. Keep personal and business records separate.

Are all Wise balances FDIC-insured?

No. U.S. coverage described here depends on opting into the eligible USD interest program and meeting its requirements. See the linked fund-protection explanation.
