When I was a kid in the 1980’s I had a Persian class mate tell me “if anyone ever tells you they are Persian, it means we are from Iran, don’t just trust them, they might be Muslim trying to cover their identity” I was like 12 and didn’t really know what to do with that information, I got the idea that he wanted me to think Iranians were bad, and they aren’t really Persians… when I told my mom she told me to never repeat it, I still didn’t understand till I was older and learned that Iran was just like America, up until the 1970’s, the women dressed the way we did, and had the same opportunities. We are being attacked from within right now, you have no idea, but they aren’t taking over the most important aspects of daily life in our country, TRUCKING, what would happen if all of a sudden every semi tractor trailer just parked?

A lot of people think Iran is Muslim because they are in the middle east. They were Persian, and they were not the same as their 'neighbors'.
I once knew a guy from Iran. He was emphatic that the Persians were not Arabs. He was Muslim so one day while we were talking I asked him what percentage of Iranians were hard core religious, he said about 20 percent. I said 'same as here' He used to laugh at the Ayatollah proclamations. But there's no reason to hate on an entire country.
