This is why politicians, who never drove a truck, shouldn't make rules for truckers. I love paperlogs. Whem im tired, i sleep

HOS makes absolutely zero sense for OTR drivers. The work isnt a set schedule. How do you plan a "work day" on a 24h clock when the job is load dependent?! Its dumb.

And i hate how companies think its okay to say "oh your 10h break is up you need to move again." Its a federally mandated 10 hour MINIMUM. But I still have to cook, clean, shower, take care of personal stuff. By the time Im actually done with things i might have already burned 4 hours and it might take longer than that, sooo Ima do what I gotta do and then sleep until I'm well rested. A clock doesn't tell me when to do things, I tell myself when I'm tired and when I have to move.

And really if I want, I can literally shut down, call an uber and go to the mall and do whatever. An actual 10 hour rest is only enforceable on paper and it has ZERO bearing on reality. It doesn't mean anything. The only things a driver should use to determine when they're safe to move is their own common sense and the weather data. A clock doesn't mean anything.
