I slept many times with the truck off. I pulled the blanket over my head and wrapped up tight and was out. Sleep better In thst old truck then I did at home.

you don't argue with what works, his family must be in the tow business, shutting of diesels in cold weather is a idiot thing to do,wimps know other wimps

  4. @BVanbb-s4t Avatar

Only if I'm getting extra pay not to idle while sleeping in freezing weather.

Bet you idle your truck when it's 100 degrees out.
Why would you not idle your truck when it's cold or hot if you don't have an APU.
Why does a truck driver have to freeze his ass off trying to sleep when he got to get up the next day and drive a 80,000 pnd truck around 1000nds of other vehicles ?
Before 2008 and these stupid newer trucks with filters that clog up if you idle to much , we would leave our trucks run day and night and not even shut them off unless we had to check the oil. Now we have APUs and other ways to stat warm or cool.
Personally I have a 7000 watt generator and a heater/AC on my roof that works just as good as idling and useing the truck AC or heat. There are many options so you don't have to freeze. One thing I will never do is give up my comfort on my time off, lol ..if that means I have to idle my truck then that bitch will be running all night for sure.

Don’t work for a company that cant afford to let you idle or buy APU’s, problem solved.
This guy doesn’t have the guts to call anyone a wimp to their face. Enjoy freezing in your ice box tough guy.

Well, you're an idiot. I never shut my truck off. I'm going to be warm or cool whatever the time of year is.

Real trucking companies provide their Drivers with APU's. Period. You impress no one with your false bravado. Being a masochist is a personal choice.
