That's what they all say until there dead from falling asleep on the road, or in prison for killing someone due to driving too dam much breaking the law and driving illegal , or loose there house and kids cause wife cheated on them cause they rather be gone then being at home with there family. I've heard too many stories of truck drivers loosing everything, due to that life choice and be in there 60,s and still having to work hard cause they paying 2 families bills there's and there ex families life, loose there relationship with there kids cause they never home, money not everything it's the life style you choose to live that puts you in certain circumstances, live a comfortable life don't live beyond your means spend time with your family enjoy life. It's funny to hear drivers say I MAKE $100,000 -$150,000 YEAR DRIVING LONG HRS AND GOING NON STOP TO LIVE MY LIFE STYLE I CHOOSE. Well you living beyond your means if you got to put yourself in that situation to just pay bills and put food on the table. If you walking around with a 1/4 million dollar house ,3 to 4 car notes, a boat note, a rv note, jet skis, 4 wheelers, buying $100 shirts and pants and 500 boots you living beyond your means . I know drivers and other professions that make $50 to $75 thousand a year home everyday, got happy family enjoy there lives and living with a very nice home got 3 to 4 cars paid for with one usally being a new car with payments , few toys but all used but paid for and do the same thing a brand new one does, got land with that home and money in the bank.
Live smart ,work smart, spend smart . -
I'd rather be rested and drive safe than be tired and potentially kill others on the road with 60 tons of cargo crashing into them. As the saying goes…..
" I will die in my sleep, not sure about the other people on the road! " -
There is NEVER a reason to drive tired. Not in a truck not in a 4 wheeler and not on a bike.
If you can not make your runs and make money and get ample sleep then you need a new career. Perhaps practice saying "Do you want fries with that?" It may motivate you.
