it called parallel Parking if you could not do this within 4 tries and hit the dock and be within 20” of that dock you failed the yard test in Tennessee Nashville trucking CDL class A in the 90s . this one took a bit of practice to get it down.

That's a day cab man over but with a sleeper for dollar store needed I'm a distributor driver from way back that's a common store delivery setup.

Dollar general must have a gun to this idiots head to make him speak this shit No it's not called a close quarters maneuver. It's called blind side backing

I worked the dollar tree account out of Stockton, CA. Yes you will have to do this every once in a while. But not at a rest area or truck stop.

Nah son,…..that's called blind side jack knifing BACKING…… extremely hard because you can't see……G.O.A.L 💯

because all their delivery docks are weird and narrow 😂

🤔 If you work for these discount places , your normally the only truck delivering ! You come from the D.C.
with everything the store needs ! Most have single docking .

Ltl guys hit 20 or 30 docks like this everyday!!!

  13. @CowboyTruckin Avatar

I practiced close quarter maneuvers but never once actually had to use it for anything.

Why tF are those cones even there looks like you can move them cones to get out then put them back…. am i missing something i dont understand why them cones are there at all
Also ive been driving for 9yrs & never had to do this type of maneuvering at any rest area or truck stop this dude exaggerating little bit, still good to know how to do this incase you get in such a situation like the Ralph's in Compton ain't no way you can get into those docks unless the driver unhooks from trailer if you got a dock next to another driver.

  15. @stacycupp5653 Avatar

I have had to use it several times in facilities and on the road. It's a taught technique because you will need to use it and because it WORKS

Backing up is a pain in the but because people who work on the docks can be anywhere, they go out and smoke a joint get too high and end up under the wheels of a backing up semi . Who’s fault would it be , of course the drivers because he did not go out of his cab and join the dock worker to smoke that joint . If the driver went out and smoked pot with the dock worker, that dock worker would be alive and here today . So who says smoking pot on the job is not safe ?

  17. @Mass_hole508 Avatar

Isn't this also called (blind alley dock)?
