    Sit.

In New Jersey, I was in a jughandle and couldn't move as a train came up. I was a half mile from the shipper; I had 20 minutes until my appointment. I couldn't move – I was stuck. AND it was the ONLY road in and out of the area.

I called the customer to let them know I'm stuck by the train. I called every 10-15 minutes to let the customer know the train was still there. TWO HOURS LATER, with the cops threatening to arrest the engineers and put someone in the train to move it, they moved!! I was still stuck in the jughandle!

The loader waited on me, bless his heart – because he knew what was going on.

Sometimes engineers purposely pull up to the circuit that activate the crossing gates. The problem is they don’t back off of them and that’s where the problem is. Under normal law, the federal railroad administration guidelines saying that a train cannot block any railroad crossing for more than 10 minutes at any time. You block across in for 10 minutes you back off to let traffic clear pull up and then do it again back off. That’s what a friend of mine told me who used to work for the railroad?

You definitely did the right thing as a trucker, plus you have video evidence of why you were delayed.

I drive a miata, it's damn near street legal go-kart size, i'd also wait it's like running a red light, although i'd get out and probably try to see wtfs going on with the train.

Usually when a train is waiting its bc another train thats belongs to whoever owns the rails is coming. So no, if im that impatient ill turn around

Id hammer down straight thru and put my plates back on in a couple miles. Nope just kidding not really id prob pull off to right put on the 4 ways hop in sleeper and take a nap

I'd sit too. Train on the tracks at the crossing means don't use that crossing until the train moves.
