Well, seems same as a residential road. Go very far right to turn left or very far left to turn right. His axles are forward so his turning will be ok as long as he is careful. i have not been in this situation but similar
I was in a similar situation. It was a one way street in Philly. I turn left, which was the wrong way, but also the only way out. Fortunately I didn’t have far to go to get out of the situation.
GPS sucks sometimes
I think he could make it after about 10 years experience
A very humbling feeling
Whelp. Time to call the cops. 😂
He needs help with backing out, call the cops vs hitting something
I could make that turn
That's why I look up loads before taking them. I know what I can do, I just don't want to deal with the headaches if I can help it.
Too many times in almost 3 years of driving, have I been put in situations that I shouldn't have been in and had gotten out of every one of them. Only had 1 accident, single vehicle, was found not at fault thanks to the Tennessee State Police because it was a tight curvy mountain road (HWY 64/74) where you have to not only watch your tracking, but to make some of the curves, you have to veer into the left lane to clear the guard rail and that's what got me because a four wheeler flew by me around a curve and I jerked the steering wheel.
Old heads and these shit companies wanna talk about "look at the map", well the fucking map isn't gonna tell me every single fucking thing that's going on.
This situation though, it's one or the other. Dude can't read or speak English, a rookie driver with their head far up their ass and wasn't paying attention to signs, or there was not a single sign saying "No Trucks" curtesy of the construction/road crew.
Not his fault. GPS’s tend to take people the most difficult route. Often, Satellite GPS’s will NOT be alerted to construction or detours. The city or county is responsible for alerting not only drivers, but also the companies who offer GPS services(Garmin, Cobra, IPhone, etc.) to any delays. If they fail to alert these companies, then the GPS will not display a detour. This type of miscommunication between DOT’s and the companies that manage GPS is extremely common. When you see something like this, it is 100% safe to assume the trucker is not at fault. Also, I will say that while his GPS took him that way, I’m sure there were posted detour signs at the last intersection. But you seriously can’t expect for people to see everything around them like their eyes are those weird fisheye CCTV cameras. As a delivery/transfer truck driver, he’s unsurprisingly more focused on his route than you or I. So expecting him to catch a small rectangular sign that says detour in a sea of multicolored signs that have nothing to do with detours while making sure not to hit anyone with that big rig, not to have any impatient 4 wheeler hit him, and activity trying not to miscalculate his route, is like verbally and politely asking a newborn puppy to use the pee pad. It’s not that easy. People tend to blame truckers and koo about training them more, but no amount of training will ever stop situations like this.
"dude you're screwed" sums it up very nicely. 😂
Call the cops
Lol the worst situation. Who let him in?!
Exactly why I don't drive in New York New Jersey or anywhere up there around that nightmare!!!
That'd make ya to do a 34 with an 18-pack of BUSH 10-4
All of you saying he is screwed have never driven or are poor drivers. That's a tight but very doable right turn for ANYONE with an EARNED CDL. We've become a nation of whiners. I've handled WAY worse.
That is new jersey they doing alot of road construction thats route 1 if im right. Be careful got god cops and lazy one depends the one that arrive to help you in this situation
