Being a dumbazz & parking on the fuel isle is a good way to get a FREE PADLOCK ON A TRAILER DOOR. Now it might have a new seal too. Just depends on how long you are parked there.

Set trailer brake.
Set tractor brake
Dump tractor air bags.This puts more than enough friction on the locking plate to make sure it cant be moved.
How this could be happening in fuel islands is beyond me.
Cameras are everywhere on them.

It happened to me five years ago in Arizona. Pilot truck stop. The only way to avoid a disconnection of trailer…
King pin lock out likely ! But always back up on your pin after leaving your truck unattended!
Never did have any of this happen to me but i checked after i had been parked.i would set trlr brakes,pull forward then set tractor brakes, when parking but still checked before i left.also did a walkaround after being stopped just to make sure everything was copasetic.

I don't trust anybody I check mine if I ever walk away from my truck for anything. Even at my own shop😂

Drop the trailer air to lock the brakes and pull forward slightly to lock that pin from being pulled.
Set your trailer brakes, do a tug, set your cab brakes. Electrify your kingpin lock. Put super glue or epoxy on it. Or get an electric kingpin lock. They can't pull the kingpin lock if there's resistance on it.
They need to make it a federal law that, if you mess with a trucker king pin. Treat it as if it were attempted manslaughter. 😮
