J.B. Hunt driver career resources
J.B. Hunt is a transportation and logistics company with a dedicated driver recruiting website. Its career resources help prospective employee drivers compare local and regional work, straight-truck delivery roles and selected opportunities for new CDL graduates. Owner-operator contracting is presented separately from employee driving jobs.
Understand the business unit before applying
- Dedicated Contract Services: work serving a specific customer, where routes, duties and scheduling depend on the account.
- Intermodal: trucking associated with freight moving to and from rail yards. Ask about ramp procedures, container/chassis handling and the specific operating area.
- Final Mile Services: delivery and installation work with substantial customer contact. Some straight-truck or Delivery Installation Specialist roles do not require a Class A license.
The site distinguishes local, regional and straight-truck work. Confirm the actual shift, days off and dispatch location in the job posting. A local label does not by itself establish a daytime or Monday–Friday schedule.
Find openings and start an application
- Use the official available-jobs search, entering your ZIP code and filtering by license and job type.
- Read the job’s experience criteria, freight-handling duties and account location.
- Complete the official prequalification process linked from the driver website, or call recruiting to discuss the opening.
- Retain the job reference and application confirmation for follow-up.
The recruiting contact form lets you request contact about a driving job. Its submission terms include permission for phone and text communication, so review those terms before providing your information. Current employee drivers can use the company’s driver transfer resources when seeking a different account.
Experience, new drivers and training
J.B. Hunt’s FAQ says most company Class A driving jobs require at least three months of Class A experience. Selected apprenticeship opportunities allow recent CDL-A graduates to gain experience with a driver trainer. The new-driver page describes six weeks of paid on-the-job training, with potential progression into an eligible fleet after successful completion.
J.B. Hunt states that it does not operate schooling to obtain a CDL-A license. Its apprenticeship is for drivers who already hold that license. Students can use the student-interest resources while working toward a CDL; drivers without a Class A license can investigate eligible Final Mile roles. Recruiters should confirm program availability, screening standards and the specific position’s requirements.
Recruiting and support contacts

- Recruiter contact request: official driver contact form.
- People Support Center: 800-777-4968 or people.support@jbhunt.com. The driver site identifies this channel for prequalification accommodation assistance and income/employment-verification questions. It is not listed as the primary driver recruiting inbox.
- Carrier onboarding: 800-423-6892 or carrier_relations@jbhunt.com for carrier-business inquiries, rather than employee applications.
Published driver recruiting hours with a time zone were not verified. Use the appropriate driver or employment-verification page rather than a shipper, delivery-scheduling or claims contact.
