CAT Scale & Weigh My Truck
Certified truck weights, axle-weight tickets and mobile weighing support.
About CAT Scale Company
CAT Scale Company provides certified truck weights through scales at participating truck stops. Professional drivers use the network to check axle groups and gross weight, obtain a weight ticket and document a loaded truck’s weight. The black-and-gold CAT Scale branding identifies the network. Use its official locator or downloadable location list to choose a scale on your route.
The company states that its scales are certified in the state where each operates. Its service provides measured weights; drivers still need to consider the applicable route, axle-spacing, vehicle and permit requirements for their load. Keep the original ticket and follow your fleet’s weight-checking and adjustment procedures.
How to position a truck on the scale
For a standard tractor-trailer, CAT Scale’s instructions place the steer axle on platform one, drive axles on platform two and trailer axles on platform three. All axle groups are weighed together. Spread-axle trailers, multiple trailers and oversize combinations may require a different sequence, movement between positions and help from the weighmaster.
Use the company’s diagrams for your equipment and contact its scale technicians if the correct setup is unclear. CAT scales provide axle-group and gross weights rather than individual wheel-corner weights. The official instructions direct customers to the help desk for special configurations or vehicles below the scale’s normal weight threshold.
Weigh My Truck mobile app
Weigh My Truck is CAT Scale’s mobile weighing and payment service. The official site provides driver and fleet-manager account options, app downloads and getting-started guidance. Set up your account and payment arrangements through the official website or app before relying on it during a loaded trip. Confirm your fleet’s permitted payment method and enter the correct truck and trailer information.
The app’s 24-hour help desk supports users who need immediate assistance. If an app issue prevents a transaction, ask the location or CAT Scale help desk about the appropriate weighing process. Keep your receipt and weight record for dispatch, the customer or your company’s trip paperwork.
Reweighs and ticket copies
The official FAQ lists a reduced-price reweigh when the same tractor and trailer return to the same scale within 24 hours, the original full-price ticket is presented, and its number is recorded on the reweigh ticket. Confirm the current charge with the location. Reweigh after permitted adjustments until your fleet’s required weight checks are complete.
For a lost ticket, use CAT Scale’s official ticket-copy request form. The company says it retains electronic records for seven years and restricts disclosure to the ticket purchaser, the named trucking company or qualifying weight verification. Tickets cannot be edited after printing; contact CAT Scale if you need help locating a record.
CAT Scale’s weight guarantee
If a driver receives a state overweight fine after the scale showed the truck legal, CAT Scale says it will check the scale. If its scale was wrong, it reimburses the fine; if the scale was correct, a company representative appears in court with the driver as a witness. The company’s guarantee covers axle and gross-weight accuracy. Contact CAT Scale promptly and review its official claim instructions before assuming a particular citation is covered.
