What Werner offers professional drivers

Werner Enterprises is a truckload transportation and logistics company with a dedicated driver careers website, a national terminal network and several types of driving work. Its official job search helps drivers compare available accounts rather than treating every Werner opening as the same job.

Driving opportunities and freight

Werner’s driver website organizes opportunities into dedicated, team, over-the-road, temperature-controlled, local and final mile work. Dedicated accounts serve a particular customer; local roles and OTR roles have different operating areas and home-time expectations. Availability depends on the account and hiring location.

Final mile positions can involve a two-person team delivering and assembling furnishings in customers’ homes, including some non-CDL roles. Drivers should check the lifting, installation and customer-service duties before applying. The owner-operator fleet program described on the current website targets established OTR Class 8 fleets with 100–500 tractors; it should not be assumed to offer a lease-purchase or single-truck opportunity.

Find a job and apply

  1. Open the official truck driving job search and compare the available accounts near your home.
  2. Review route type, equipment, experience requirements and advertised schedule in the individual listing.
  3. Use Werner’s prequalification form or speak with a recruiter before completing the full application.
  4. Keep your application confirmation and account details for follow-up.

A prequalification inquiry is an early recruiting step. It does not by itself establish hiring eligibility or guarantee a particular account. Have your CDL class and endorsements, recent driving experience and relevant work history ready for the recruiter. Read the form’s contact-consent terms before submitting.

Training, teams and driver resources

Werner’s driver FAQ identifies CDL training through Roadmaster Drivers School. Prospective students should ask the school about tuition, training location, eligibility and the relationship between school completion and a Werner job offer.

For drivers interested in team work, Werner offers a Team Match program to help find a compatible co-driver. Discuss sleep schedules, home location and how home time will work before committing to a pairing. Current drivers can also use the Drive Werner Pro resources linked from the official website for company communication and support.

Questions to ask about your account

Ask about home-time timing, freight handling, paid orientation, required travel, tractor parking near home, detention or unloading pay, benefits waiting periods and how an advertised pay figure is calculated. Account-specific terms matter more than a general company-wide earnings claim. If you want temperature-controlled, team or local work, confirm that the recruiter is discussing that exact fleet.
