About This Video

Truck driving requires attention to the choices a driver can control, while recognizing that not every circumstance is within a driver's hands. The topic is the balance between doing what you can and accepting uncertainty. Luck may play a part, but it does not replace sound judgment behind the wheel.

Key Takeaways

  • Focus on the decisions within your control.
  • Stay prepared for uncertainty on the road.

We need more Training. Keep your hands on the wheel, hit the brakes, and continue the path of travel. Do not suddenly veer left or right trying to avoid a collision with a moving car blindly merging into you or your lane. 9 times out 10, that veering maneuver ends badly.

"neither did anything wrong"??? Maybe don't go into traffic head-on

With all the extra space I purposely leave in front of my rig, theres zero reason a car can't overtake me at an on ramp, especially one with an acceleration lane!

Despite that a few have made it their lifes mission to sit next to my truck, then drive on the shoulder, before finally slowing down and merging into traffic.
