If it helps you sleep at night. I paid my dues , got years & years of experience OTR shifting gears through bad weather to get where I’m at now . I love my automatic dedicated drop & hook job. Making more money now than I was OTR. To each their own .

28 yrs driving local , drove both manual and auto. Home every night, slept in same bed as my wife, coached my kids in youth sports, watched as a parent at all their activities and sports as they got older. Driven close to 2 million miles.

I’m a 23 year driving school graduate pulling a 13-axle weighing 78,000 lbs when I’m EMPTY and around 235,000 lbs loaded driving a 2021 western star with 600 hp and a 18-speed manual transmission behind it and I have as much respect for the guy in a automatic cascadia trying to put food on his table and is proud of what he does for a living. Lift these guys up, don’t hold them down.

I've been out here over 35 yrs been in over 4 accident 3 of them almost lost my life and have the broken bones to prove it and they have not been my fault and I'm still out here over the road.
