Well that sucks. I got lost in the back roads mountain area at night in Idaho 35 years ago when i first started trucking. Quit that week when i got back to base. Still driving, been through many different companies, still get lost some days buuuut don't sweat it anymore. It all works out in end.
Yeah, back up! You really have no choice!
You know that feeling you felt that said, you really shouldn't go down this road?
It was correct
Fortunately, you didn't have traffic behind you. That is a whole other level of problem.
Years ago in Michigan, a trucker got caught up like this in a tunnel. Black in the entrance, the trucker jam they’re so tight they couldn’t pull the truck out. They were trying for quite some time until some little girl stuck in a traffic with her parents said well
“why don’t they let the air out of the tires? “
Oh, that’s all it took😂😂
At least she made it. I’ve had to drop my airbags and drive right in the middle before. This is why I have a garmin gps and truckerpath
Dude call the local cops asked if trucks passes through and if not if a cop can guide you out of the place.
Atleast your paying attention
There's a 13 foot bridge in north Carolina if you take the center of the road you can get under it
Your backing skills are fixin to get some miles
😂😂😂
Yep get back in the kitchen lol
When in doubt, call the police non-emergency line. If they can’t help you, they will find someone who can.
Wait til tomorrow so u can see. Your truck is 13'6.. the only hope you have is to drop your bags. Hopefully the trailer bagged too. Lol
At least no one was there to witness your ooopsie until you videoed it and shared it with the world. 😂😂😂😂😂
Good job you! We haul a shit ton of back roads doin what our company does. Some states need to have better signage for real.
How do you not know your clearance? I understand some signs are not correct. But not even having any idea what your driving is just insane to me. Most likely another desperate company Hiring whoever possible
I have, unfortunately, experienced this before. Except it was an 11 foot bridge and I had no choice but to back up. Stay strong out there. It isn't about running into problems, its about how you handle them
Another improperly trained company driver
Sometimes signs will get you in trouble. Go with Garmin. Still beware. Happy trucking!
Years ago I did job site deliveries.
Having to back up a mile to turn around was not uncommon. I had to back up three miles one time.
Dump your airbags, if you can, or call non emergency to help back you up.
always better to turn around than to deliver a bridge….
Back Up
In that situation, you have to call the state troopers or the local police and have them to help you to maneuver out and around it
I'll say this get yourself out that trap then get yourself a trucker gps remember you get what you pay for garmin 1010 or 1020 will give you bridge warnings
I bet you that's in between pueblo and monument. I-25 Colorado. People will miss the exit and try and take the off ramp to go back to the loves in pueblo. Near Pikes peak raceway.
Typical woman driver "what sign" "i didn't see no sign"
Duck down an stomp it hunny
I had to back up. For about a mile in this situation before…but, there's a lot of tunnels with sloping edges like this. Freaks ya out for a second
I hope the experience gave her confidence to keep on trucking.
She will not make that mistake again.
