I am not a big rig driver and let me play Devil's Advocate. With that bridge approaching, maybe all 3 did not want to get into an accident if they were all single file and the front rig in the single file did not fit under the bridge.
By each one in their own lane and staying relatively side by side there would be less chance of all 3 getting into an accident if only one of them did not fit under the bridge as all 3 try to time it correct by reaching the bridge at the same time.
Maybe i am missing something. -

First time I found out my car had a speed limit set to 85 was when I was passing a truck going up a hill 20 under the limit so no big deal to pass but then I seen he was on the bumper of another rig so I floor it to get past the second one because the passing lane was going to end and that's when my car decided it was not going faster so I had to break but No there was a half tun behind me also passing 1 truck, And then a U=Haul came over the hill,,,, I used to drive big rig so I knew my options were 0 if the drive did not make room, Limiting the speed to 100 but showing it will do 400 mph should be a crime.

When I was at FedEx ground they announced they were going to force contractors to govern at 65. I explained the accident rate would jump dramatically. 6 months later they were trying to figure out an increase of 20% in the accident rates
