I don't run late anymore, receiver holds me long enough to cause me to arrive late to my next pickup and I make a phone call and either have it rescheduled for the next day, and put in layover pay for the wait. Or get another load that fits the new time frame.
I also put in for detention. Waste my time, I love getting paid to sleep.
Don't take short cut in any aspect of trucking it will coast you. Take your time but be in a hurry in all aspects your CDL is your responsibility
