The only time you are allowed to be on the shoulder is if you are broken down. You better have your hazard triangles out & displayed. 1) The first one is 10 feet from the end of the trailer. 2) The second one is 50 feet from the first one. 3) The third one is 50 feet from the Second one. If its dark outside, have your hazard lights on & blinking. Also have your parking lights on. Visibility is the key to not being rearended. You are waiting for the repair truck to arrive & fix whatever is broken. Tires, brakes, water pump, whatever it is. The Highway Patrol/Local P.D. will probably leave you alone. They may check on you but won't be giving you a ticket. Vehicles break. Good luck.
I use to see that on the east Coast for miles before a full rest stop.
I pulled through a Virginia rest area and parked on the on ramp to take leak and catch up log book at 3:00 am. A state trooper pulled beside me blocking the on ramp and wrote me a ticket he didn’t bother any other truck just me.
Thats the rest area on 81 in Virginia. That cop is a douche. Wakes drivers up at 2a n such
👆Stupid Video.
