I picked up a 53' trailer in Elizabeth, NJ, in 1989. It was in a January blizzard! I walked to the back of the trailer & found 1 of the doors unlatched. I shined my flashlight into the trailer and yelled. No one answered & I didn't see anyone. I was freezing my azz-off bc it was-10°f so I slammed the door shut and put a fresh seal on it! Nothing appeared to be disturbed in the trailer. I was in a hurry, wanting to head south to Tampa with the trailer. It was 28K lbs of rubber seals & gaskets! I got my pretrip & logbook in order! Then boogied to Tampa/Plant City, Florida! I backed the trailer into a dock at the warehouse. All of a sudden, I heard yelling in the trailer! It was the Receiving clerk, tow motor driver AND an old homeless man! Who had climbed into the trailer, for shelter away from the blizzard!!! No frieght was harmed & the homeless man was surprised & happy to be in warm Florida!Another Normal day In the life of a Spotter Driver😅
Just shut the doors and drive away nothing dangerous 😳
