Probably temperature control for the cab.

  2. @mass8520 Avatar

Definitely not what it is for that’ll
    Warp your drums

I thought it was heat control for the cab.
Controls a value that operates the amount of fluid going to the heater core.

Now they don’t have breaks just flip flops 😢

It 0pens and closes the shutters in front of the raderator,to control engine temp.

Everything was uphill back then. No need for brakes

Thats Not for the Brakes and never should be for any set of Brakes cause that aint safe by any measure. That lil switch is used for Tempature control just like it says, for the radiator cooling system and just look how far its located away from the jake brake haha That Jake brake is their on the dash cause they ust to have to flip that switch instead of how Now its built into the drive train of the Truck. Who is this guy….

  8. @smallfry1463 Avatar

It’s part of the cooling/heat system.

  9. @jBigjohndoe1971 Avatar

That just controls the water going from your engine to your heater core…

More akin to a Cowl flap on an aircraft, airflow to cooler matrixes. Sure as hell wouldn't be water cooling your brakes. They wouldn't be that effective after a short period of cooling!

  11. @ButcherBill77 Avatar

It temp control from your radiator to your heater coil/core.. it would warp everything to hell if it went to the brakes 😂😂

  12. @MartieGayhart-x8p Avatar

I’m sure these old boys knew exactly how much water to put on these brakes. I mean they did it for a long time.😂 hopefully😅

No sir that doesn't sound right at all

  14. @ZackariahCombs1 Avatar

Well its not for brakes an you can bet on that lol its too cool the engin temp kinda like your mom

  15. @skylerlinkmusic Avatar

Jak breaks work off the rocker box

  16. @lMRSQUIDl Avatar

Yeah, all it does. Is spray a mist onto the radiator if it's running hot, the Jake break uses engine to stop not the actual brakes. This man has no clue how to drive this thing. And if he has a license, they need to take it LOL

Probably to let the fire out

  18. @jamesford2942 Avatar

Sounds like some of the new guys out there putting down the BS. I drove a 1965 Peterbilt with a twin stick. Most of the guys back then had never even seen one.

We have water cooling sprayer for the radiator here in Australia to bring the temperature down

  20. @budsbustbi6339 Avatar

yes! you have a tank of water that driped on breaks! but it was not a leaver like that! it was a self installed thing! grapevine in the 50s and early 60!

  21. @sheyj Avatar

    It’s to cool Fred flinston’s feet 👣 😅

That lever controlled the louvers on the front of the radiator… They were later kaiser thermostatically controlled
