Happens all day ,everyday.
Happens to me too. I stick to my lane regardless. I won't risk the load, rolling the truck or endangering anyone else in other lanes.
It'll be a hard brake event, but it is what it is.

I am a truck driver of 34 years, and I still am driving today. I would have done the same thing. Except for afterwards, I wouldn't have even stopped. I would have kept going
