Why don’t you strap a coil?

My step deck is rated 55k in four feet. Specifically for flat steel coils. Most are 38-45k. Those straps are rated for 5,500 pounds, typically used at 5,000. Two straps is only 10k worth the strapping power. Doubt those two coils are 40k plus apiece. They would put the gross weight way over the 80k limit without permit. Truck & trailer is 32-36k. While even the single coil trailers rated to 55k in 4 feet. Rated to 80k distributed.
Those two coils may only be in the 20k range. Yet, two straps not doing it.
3/8 chains & binders typically rated at 6,600 lbs. 1/2 a bit over 11,000 lbs. Two coils at only 20k apiece. Need at least 4 3/8 chains. 2 5,500 rated straps ain't doing it. Might hold for Transit, will not hold for any crash avoidance.
Seen lots of photos, brain splatter, from coils & beams not properly secured. Go right through header board, sleeper, into cab & kills driver. Most cases due to some idiot 4 wheeler doing something stupid in front of a loaded semi. Causing hard braking or crash avoidance maneuver. Have to be smart enough to survive. Always secure for the crash, or you ain't getting there alive!
What I hate the most. Is google changing what I write, after I post. WTF, like I do not know wtf I am talking about. Some f'n desk jockey not knowing what bathroom to use. Knows more about securing loads on a 53 foot Stepdeck. All they own is a phone. I own 250k+ in equipment. Yet the desk jockey vag, corrects what I write. WTF??? Fucking tiring having to edit 3-4 times.

He's probably going mile down the road, will never reach 25mph. It's completely wrong, he shouldn't be using straps through the eye of the coil. Most likely there's multiple trucks doing same thing in that area for years if not decades….
