My love for windshield sunsets well never die every year I buy a updated atlas so I can plan all routes to avoid all the daily bs and drama and traffic, I'm 57 and been this to long now to call it quits

It's called an atlas a lost art! Many ways I wish they would have never made a GPS this book separates the men from the boys!

He's doing what I do. Using his Rand McNally to route his trip. Shortest way. Then look in the front pages to locate restrictions, low bridges and other hazards.
Write down some notes and then roll. I've never used a GPS in all my 35 years.

After awhile, you can pretty much memorize many routes to many places. Sometimes it only takes a moment looking at the map, and then you'll say:" I remember the route to that place." And then you take off. -

GPS is good but better to plan your route with (Trucker Atlas) good way to stay out of trouble
I’ve had more than a few issues with GPS (Lost coverage, recalculating) -
Studying a road map. They wouldn't steer you wrong as long as they were up to date.

A GPS could cost you $$$$$ in fines and tickets

They still teach at a few trucking schools if you can't plan trip they fail you
