Yeah, he definitely sped up, I typically let off a little to help them get by quicker. Not to be critical, but if that is how you typically hold your steering wheel, I hope you never have a steer tire blow.

Catching up to him after you got back behind him? When did that happen? My Dad has roadrage. Sometimes he perceives things that aren't real on he road. You seemingly have a good temperament though. Good job there! You may have spent a few too many seconds analyzing this driver though. (Like I am right now) That's the onset of road rage. If you left him in your rearview, who knows… Maybe a better option sometimes.

Once you’re behind him, then he’s getting back on his phone and slowing down notices. You’re coming up next to him gets off his phone speeds up realizes that he’s going slow.

You feel like you are doing the right thing by passing because he is slow traffic and then the goofball speeds up and totally just screws up the traffic pattern. This is embarrassing for the person trying to pass if they have people behind them that don’t understand what’s going on.
You’re supposed to speed up when you are passing, not pussyfoot for several minutes expecting hi to slow down…
That's why I won't drive a modern truck. People used to do that to me and my 2007 T600 kenworth. Her name was Red Rosie. She had a 650hp C-15 Caterpillar and a 13-speed. She topped out at about 115 mph if I remember correctly. When assholes did this to me, I'd leave them in a cloud of black smoke and then ask them over the CB how that worked out for them.

All day every day 4 wheelers do the same thing. Happy I drive a truck that has some speed I can get buy and let the cruise take back over. Just like the drivers that see you coming up on them and they pull in your lane to crawl past the truck they were behind and wont move over until you move over to the left lane. O ad lets not forget the ones that crawl method and when you get next to them decide to throttle up.
At 68 max speed, you shouldnt even be in that lane!! Your holding up those of us that are doing 80!!
