One reason I have always disliked high top sleepers. I was a tanker yanker for my time driving. But there were places where I took more than just a glance at bridge signs. When they resurface roads I can guarantee they NEVER remeasure bridge height!!! I had one occasion to be grateful for the double check. It was in Chicago and the tank I was yanking had an unusual height box around the top lid. It bothered me it looked wrong. Anyway took my usual route. It had several low bridges. But not to worry about. But there was on bridge they had done resurfacing under. And as I approached something felt wrong. So braked flashers stopped. Readjust my mirror and when clear moved to what looked like the best track. Boy was I glad. As I passed under I watched a seal tail touch and bend as I went under. When I unloaded I saw the tail I had had less than 2 inches clearance.
