a buddy of min who drove stateside many years ago had guys jump his truck and because he carried a gun with him he took the guy out and when the cops came they said we know what happened just get out of here and we will look after it, in many places it is not safe for truckers to stop period.

I know it's illegal to have a firearm in a truck but black powder isn't considered a firearm in most states. Neither is a pcp air pistol. That would stop alot of truck thefts.
