when driving a semi always double check the route with actual maps app to make sure its viable option. same thing happen on a video a couple weeks ago. where the driver is trying to make a ext. cab semi truck right turn onto a single lane road with a sign that clearly said no right turn for trucks but yet the whole subbed community is like a cult. and backed the trucker like they will here delusion is one hell of a drug..

for those who don't know, SWIFT programs the route into the GPS, and if drivers deviate from the preplanned route, they are penalized. I found that out while waiting with a SWIFT driver for SWIFT to find a tow company who would give them credit.

Cheap driver buys car GPS at Bestbuy instead of a GPS made for heavy trucks, but costs a lot more.

One, you use a trucker GPS that knows where trucks can go or not, but most importantly you use your brain and don't blindly follow where it tells you. Look at the steps, and the pictures of each turn, you see a road lile this you don't take it. You knew it wasn't an interstate. So this is the 2nd time?

We had them in the trucks at my last company. I immediately turned the volume down on it. Half the time they'd send routing and it would be to the middle of downtown or it wouldn't show the street you were headed to. To get it to go right I had to set it to "fastest route" and at times make it match up with my phone's map app.
I also carried my Truckers Atlas.

I drive a semi based motorhome. I use a Garmin GPS that is designed for motorhomes and semis. Never had any problems going anywhere I shouldn't.
But hey, it IS a (not very) Swift driver, soooo… -
There is trucker GPS it costs money and worth it. Trucker GPS takes you to the delivery dock not the front door.
Never trust car gps. -
