Drop bags, crank trailer up a bit, pull out. Start over.😊

Not that hard bud! Do what @Hawkster2024 said. Plus if you have a wobbly 5th wheel, put an empty water bottle under it to where if forces the back end up. Helps so you don’t have to crank the trailer so much and pin will slide over plate.

I hate that especially with a full load

Always stop before the kingpin and visually check. Saving that 5 seconds just cost you 10-15 minutes of crankin.

    Fill your airbags..
    Drop your dolly legs..
    Let the air out..
Place a stick across your fifth wheel so that it tilts foward and pull out.

Shit I hate high siding. Hope it don't weigh much

Also why I try to train newbes to only crank till feet just touch, then back 2 turns. Drop your bags when you pull up. That way its easier for you to rehook,or for the next driver

Make a habit of leaving your landing gear 1 to 2 inches off the ground and you'll never have this problem.

Very much avoidable I been driving 35 years and had to learn the hard way also, but if you follow 3 simple rules the chance of this happening are very low 1- if you don't feel the tractor suspension drop stop and look. 2- if you don't see the trailer lift a little stop and look. 3- Also learn to see where the front of the trailer is in relation to to your drive tires. For example I had a KW. that if the front of the trailer went past the quarter fender I was almost past the king pin
